![]() The University has four learning resources centres (LRCs), which have large libraries of books, print and electronic journals, specialist collections, private study areas with computers, plus a wireless network and laptops available for students to borrow. These include extensive computing facilities, fitness centre and canteen. You will be based at one of on the main University campuses and can use all of the University's facilities during your course. In your weekly tutorial you can discuss any problems that you may have and receive valuable advice and guidance (see teaching, learning and assessment). We are determined to help you successfully complete your course. Our administrators will assist students who need to register with the police. AccommodationÄuring the online Summer Pre-sessional English long, medium and short courses, self-catering accommodation may be available. Please make sure that you read their emails carefully. They will be in contact regularly with updates: emailing the address that you provide on your application form. They will let you know what to bring with you, and give you information about arrival procedures and what to do on the first day of your course. ![]() Our course administrators will support you through the application process helping with visa applications. ![]() During the course, students will develop a proposal for their EN 498 project that includes a reading list, project description, and process description.We offer a range of support services before you arrive in the UK and during your studies on the Pre-sessional English course. The course will also include professionalization in the field of creative writing, covering topics such as how to approach publishing and editing, how to submit creative writing for publication, how to apply to graduate school, how to prepare for careers in writing, and how to identify and connect to resources in the field. Students will study sustained creative projects such as poetry chapbooks, novellas, story or essay collections, and other long-form works, and plan and begin their own substantial creative writing projects. Additional seats may be open by application to students who have completed at least two creative writing courses. ![]() Admission to the course is competitive: students should apply to the Undergraduate Creative Writing Program director prior to pre-registration. Students should enroll in this course no later than spring of their junior year. This course is a required for students wishing to write an English Honors creative writing thesis in a subsequent semester.
